Engine 812 and Chief 12 Run 2 Alarm Brush Fire
On April 13th, 2018, Engine 834 was dispatched to the area of the National Archives on Metzerott Rd for an investigation. Upon their arrival, they discovered a massive outside fire had developed near a PEPCO substation and subsequently filled out the box. Engine 812 responded on the box and achieved excellent positioning by accessing the site via the College Park Woods development. The incident quickly grew to two alarms for manpower, and after several hours was placed under control. Over the next 24 hours, multiple companies rotated through the scene to maintain a presence in the event of a flare up. Overall, Engine 812, Chief 812, Cart 812, and Utility 812 operated on the incident. Engine 812 can be seen in the photos below with almost no hose left in the bed.
