At approx 1420 hours on Saturday June 9th, 2018, PGFD & Montgomery County (MCFRS) units were alerted to the intersection of Riggs Rd and Hughes Rd in Co 34’s area for a reported house on fire. Truck 812 was alerted as the first due truck, Chief 812 and Chief 812A (running as Battalion 884) also took in the box. While en route, Public Safety Communications (PSC) advised BC884 that they were recieving multiple calls stating the house was “engulfed” in flames. Truck 812 and the Chiefs arrived on scene with PE712 to find a two story single family home with heavy fire showing from a garage, which had been converted to a living area. The interior crew from Truck 812 forced entry through the front door, and initiated a search ahead of the hoseline, conducting a primary on division 1. The exterior crew from Truck 812 laddered the second floor and roofs of the home, and conducted VES of bedrooms on division 2 to search for trapped occupants. Truck 812’s crew opened up and checked for extension in the room of origin, and assisted in mopping up. Units from company 12 operated for an hour and a half before returning to service.
